Applies to all SoNo Smile Club plans (Adult, Perio and Child) · Last updated: October 23, 2026
This isn't insurance
The SoNo Smile Club is a membership plan offered directly by Norwalk Dental Group, not an insurance policy. It isn't billed to insurance, and it isn't regulated the way an insurance plan is. You're paying us directly for included visits and a standing discount, not buying a policy from a third party.
Enrollment & payment
Joining starts with a request, not a checkout. After you tell us which plan you’re interested in, our team contacts you, answers your questions and does a short screening to confirm the plan that fits you. Online enrollment and automatic billing are not available yet. Once your plan is confirmed, we set up your payment with you, through a payment plan or another payment option, monthly or annually. A one-time $49 activation fee applies when you enroll. Sending the interest form does not enroll you and does not create a charge.
Missed payments
Life happens. We get it. If a payment is missed, you get a 7-day grace period before anything happens, and we’ll reach out to help. No fee, and your membership stays fully active while we sort it out.
Cancellation
Cancel anytime. There's no long-term contract. Your membership stays active through the end of the period you've already paid for, and dues simply stop after that. We don't refund time already paid for, and we don't bill you back for services you already used.
Reactivation
If your membership lapses and you'd like to rejoin later, a $49 reactivation fee applies, same as the original activation fee. This keeps the plan fair for members who stay continuously enrolled rather than joining only when it's convenient.
Discounts & insurance
Your membership discount applies to your treatment plan total and can't be combined with dental insurance or any other offer or promotion. If you have dental insurance, your provider will let you know which option (insurance or membership) makes more sense for a given treatment; you don't have to use both, and you can't stack them on the same charge.
30-day waiting period on major treatment
Your included cleanings, exams, and X-rays are available as soon as you enroll, no waiting. The membership discount on larger treatment (fillings, crowns, implants, root canals, and clear aligners) becomes available once you've been continuously enrolled for 30 days.
Perio tier & scaling & root planing (SRP)
The Perio tier covers ongoing maintenance cleanings: it does not cover the initial treatment for gum disease. To enroll in Perio tier, you need to have had scaling & root planing (SRP) within the past 12 months. If it's been longer than that, or you're newly diagnosed, SRP is needed first, it's billed separately, at your member rate.
Gum disease can come back, and some patients build up calculus faster than others. Because of this, your provider reassesses your gum health at every visit, not just at enrollment. If active disease is found again during a maintenance visit, further SRP is billed separately, the same way, rather than treated as a routine cleaning.
Curodont (cavity reversal) eligibility
Curodont™ only works on early-stage decay that's still confined to the enamel, the outer layer of the tooth. It isn't a substitute for a filling once decay has reached the dentin underneath. Your provider will let you know, tooth by tooth, whether Curodont is appropriate or whether a filling is the right call instead.
Moving between tiers
Adult and Child tiers are for patients without periodontal involvement. If periodontal disease is diagnosed at any visit, your provider will move you to Perio tier going forward, this determination is made by your provider, not chosen by you, and can happen at any visit, not just at enrollment.
Tier changes take effect at your next billing cycle, not retroactively, and can't be used to avoid a discount eligibility rule that's already been triggered by a diagnosis.
Family discount & referral credit
Each additional family member you enroll gets 10% off their dues. Refer a new member and you'll receive a $25–50 account credit, but only once that referred member has been actively enrolled and paying dues for 30 days, to keep this from being used as a quick payout scheme.
One membership, all Norwalk Dental Group locations
Your membership covers you as a patient across all Norwalk Dental Group locations, it's not a separate plan per office, and it can't be enrolled in more than once to double your included visits.
Missed appointments
Membership doesn't exempt you from our standard appointment policy. A cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice counts as a no-show.
- 1st no-show: a courtesy reminder, no penalty.
- 2nd no-show (within a rolling 12 months), our standard no-show fee applies.
- 3rd no-show: that visit is forfeited from your annual allotment, and we may require a deposit to book future appointments.
Repeated no-shows may result in your membership being canceled at our discretion.
Minors
For Child tier, the enrolling parent or guardian is the account holder and is financially responsible for dues and any charges, not the child.
Chargebacks
If a membership charge is disputed with your bank or card issuer, your membership is deactivated immediately while it's investigated. Reinstating your membership requires resolving the disputed amount in full.
Plan changes
Dues and plan details may change with at least 30 days' notice to enrolled members. Norwalk Dental Group also reserves the right to modify or discontinue the SoNo Smile Club, with notice provided to active members beforehand.
